SUMMARY. In this review article, the authors point out the importance of establishing a registry and a biobank for twin pregnancy. Twins pregnancy and twins are a unique opportunity to study fetal physiology and pathology, maternal adaptation to double / multiple pregnancy, complications in pregnancy, postpartum and postnatal development, neonatal outcomes and later twins represent a unique opportunity to explore causal relationships in behavioral change, variations in development during childhood, adolescence and adult age as well as development of certain diseases.
